Do coated surfaces pass the coffee test? Don't worry!

The test method for cold liquids resistance is described in the European standard EN 12720. Coffee is one of the most important substances that is used because it is a widely-loved drink all over the world. However if it accidentally drips out from the cup, it may permanently stain the furniture surfaces, especially those painted.

Therefore, the "coffee test" frequently represents a significant fear, as it may define the pass or fail of the entire test.

From the analysis of the data collected by the surfaces department of CATAS during 2016, interesting information emerged about the behavior of painted surfaces in this test. Which colors best resist? Which types of coatings are most critical? And how does the substrate influence the result?
