After some years of work, a
new standard to assess the safety requirements of cribs and cots mattresses: EN 16890:2017 will be published.
The most significant test regards the
firmness of the mattress: how much the child’s head sinks into the mattress.
In 2015 CATAS orders a degree thesis to evaluate the applicability of these new requirements.
At today's date we are able to perform the tests according to this standard in San Giovanni al Natisone (UD) and in our branch in Lissone, near Milan.
