Almost 200 products are certified by Catas, on the basis of objective and strict criteria, in terms of formaldehyde emissions, coating systems, gluelam beams for doors and windows and, more recently, furniture.
About fifty companies - Italian and foreign - have chosen to certify CQA - Catas Quality Award their products.

we stole just one thought from each of the CQA certification reference personnel…
History has proved us right! The Managing Director Franco Bulian remembers that in 1990, Catas had become a reference laboratory for formaldehyde emissions tests on behalf of a German institute. Three years later, the decision was made to create a quality label: the CQA - Catas Quality Award. For the new certification schemes, the knowledge gained in the laboratory was used not only on panels, but also on varnishes, gluelam beams and, from 2018, on "Italian origin" furniture. 30 years have passed since then!
Let’s communicate the Excellence! Lorena Riul, head of the CQA certification body promotes the use of the Catas Quality Award mark now combined with a QR code to be used on the certified product or its documents. The new mark is a distinctive sign of the certified product and will allow its quality to be traced.
Update assured! Sandro Ciroi, auditor for the low formaldehyde emission panel schemes confirms that the limits of formaldehyde emissions from panels are constantly evolving, but manufacturers know that their CQA-certified production always meets the legislative, regulatory and market requirements that Catas keeps up to date.
Potentialities and problems on the standardisation tables. Alessia Matellon, reference personnel for coating systems certifications, explains that thanks to the relationship between Catas technicians and manufacturers, the topics that companies care for, become the subject of discussion at the "tables that count", with undoubted advantage for manufacturers who know well in advance what the "challenge" will be that will guarantee products of ever higher quality.
Experience and research drive improvement! Simone Poletto, gluelam beams certification auditor says that the experience of companies with CQA-Catas Quality Award certified products is a stimulus for continuous "research" aimed at providing concrete answers to problems and improving the product.
Market and consumer guarantee! Marco Indovina, auditor for the "Italian origin of furniture by Catas" certification, reiterates that CQA-Catas Quality Award certifications give furniture assessed in accordance with strict standards and regulations by an impartial Body accredited by ACCREDIA, the guarantee that it conforms to the state of the art standards in terms of safety, performance and durability.
Not commercials but quality of substance! It’s up to Daniele Bergamasco, Catas vice-director, head of the chemical department and CQA auditor, the final thought: in response to the market that demands "safe products" from every point of view, new chapters will be added to the CQA story, increasingly connected to the great theme of sustainability. It is no coincidence that Catas is committed to the measurement of LCA-Lyfe Cycle Assessment and emissions of VOCs - volatile organic compounds.
